In a devastating incident, at least 13 people have lost their lives after a roof collapsed at the Jet Set nightclub in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The incident occurred during a concert by popular merengue artist Rubby Pérez early Tuesday morning, and rescue operations are still underway to locate those trapped beneath the debris.
Local authorities, including president Luis Abinader, have extended their condolences to the grieving families. Juan Manuel Méndez, head of the Emergency Operations Centre (COE), reported that ambulances made 93 trips to nearby hospitals, often transporting multiple patients. As the situation evolves, officials are working diligently to ascertain the total number of injuries while hoping to find more survivors beneath the wreckage.
