In brief

At SupplySide Global 2026 in Las Vegas, more than 1,600 exhibitors and 20,000 industry professionals gathered as nearly 600 Chinese companies, a record high, shifted focus from raw ingredients to branded finished goods. Ganoherb Group’s president said the firm will concentrate on reishi-based coffees and teas in the U.S., while Changsha Huir plans a U.S. processing plant to broaden its product line. The move underscores China’s growing influence, which supplies about 80 percent of the U.S. dietary‑supplement raw materials industry.

Chinese health‑ingredient firms gathered in Las Vegas on Oct. 30‑31, 2026 to showcase their products at SupplySide Global 2026, a major North American dietary‑supplement expo. The event, held at Mandalay Bay, drew more than 1,600 exhibitors and over 20,000 industry professionals, including nearly 600 Chinese companies – the highest number of any single country at the show.

Alongside the main expo, a China Innovative Health Ingredients Brand Show assembled over 60 Chinese companies to present new products and technologies. For many exhibitors, the emphasis is moving beyond raw materials to higher‑value finished goods and brands.

Ganoherb Group – a major Chinese producer of organic lingzhi (reishi mushroom) – has long supplied raw materials and OEM services abroad. Facing intense price pressure, the firm is shifting toward branded products. Li Ye, the company’s president and founder, told Xinhua that Ganoherb plans to focus more on branded products in the U.S. market, building on China’s traditional strengths in lingzhi cultivation. The company showcased reishi‑mushroom coffee and tea made with concentrated extracts at the expo.

This new focus will help us grow our presence in the U.S. with strong, recognizable brands.

Changsha Huir Biological‑tech Co., Ltd. – after more than a decade of exporting natural extracts, the Hunan‑based firm is planning a U.S. processing facility to manufacture finished products for global distribution. Yuan Zhi, the company’s general manager, said China’s advantage lies in diverse raw‑material sources and energy‑efficient production equipment. The new facility will extend the company’s reach beyond ingredient supply and create a more integrated supply chain.

We see a clear opportunity to bring our products closer to end consumers with a U.S. plant.

Global analysts note that Chinese suppliers remain essential to the dietary‑supplement industry. Loren Israelsen, president of the United Natural Products Alliance, told Xinhua that China supplies roughly 80 percent of the industry’s raw materials. "Having good Chinese suppliers is fundamental to the success of the American marketplace and to serving our consumers," Israelsen said.

These developments signal a strategic shift that could reshape the U.S. supplement market, giving Chinese firms a larger role as finished‑product manufacturers and potentially increasing their influence over global supply cycles.
