Cargo Plane Crash Near Vilnius: One Dead, Three Injured
A cargo jet crash in Lithuania has resulted in one fatality and three injuries, raising safety concerns in aviation.
A Boeing 737, operated by Spanish airline Swiftair for DHL, crashed on approach to Vilnius airport early Monday morning. The cargo plane was carrying 12 crew members when it fell near a residential area, sparking a fire but fortunately, all nearby residents were evacuated safely. Investigations by both DHL and Lithuanian authorities are underway to establish the crash's cause, which is believed to be a technical issue or human error rather than sabotage. The plane, 31 years old, had departed from Leipzig Airport just before the incident.
