The family of a man missing in New Zealand since late 2021 is making a heartfelt plea for his return. Tom Phillips took his children — 12-year-old Jayda, 10-year-old Maverick, and 9-year-old Ember — from their home during a custody conflict with their mother. In December of that year, he vanished into the wilderness, prompting a nationwide search.

In a recent emotional appeal, Phillips’ mother expressed her desire to see him and the children again, stating, "Every day I wake up and hope that today will be the day that you all come home." His sister, Rozzi, emphasized the love and support available to him, expressing her longing to be part of their lives once more.

Authorities believe Phillips and his children have been hiding in the North Island's rugged areas. A notable sighting occurred last October when teenagers encountered the family in the bush – a moment captured on video that raised concerns. Police launched an extensive search following the sighting but were unable to locate them.

Phillips had lost legal custody of his children and is wanted for failing to comply with a court order. He was previously linked to a bank robbery, leading police to caution the public against approaching him, referencing his potential armed status. As the search continues, concerns grow over his current situation and the well-being of the children.
