A shocking incident unfolded in Colorado when a man, Mohammed Sabry Soliman, was charged with throwing Molotov cocktails at pro-Israel demonstrators during a march. This incident took place at Boulder’s Pearl Street Mall, injuring eight individuals. The FBI reported that Soliman, a 45-year-old Egyptian national, had been scheming the attack for over a year, intending to launch it after his daughter's high school graduation.
The attack occurred at an event organized by Run for Their Lives, aimed at raising awareness about Israeli hostages in Gaza. As Soliman hurled two incendiary devices, he shouted “Free Palestine”, resulting in eight people suffering burns, with some needing hospitalization. Initial reports indicated eight victims, but four more came forward later with minor injuries.
Upon his brief court appearance, Soliman was seen in an orange jumpsuit, responding minimally to the judge. He is facing serious charges, including federal hate crimes and attempted murder. Court documents reveal that Soliman had watched online tutorials on making Molotov cocktails and expressed a desire to "kill all Zionists".
The FBI found more incendiary devices nearby and stated that Soliman dressed as a gardener to conceal his intentions. Surprisingly, he had intended to carry out the attack with Molotov cocktails due to restrictions on accessing firearms stemming from his immigration status.
Authorities clarified that there was no prior indication of Soliman being a threat. The incident has fueled discussions about rising antisemitism and hate crimes in the U.S., particularly linked to the ongoing conflict in Gaza, further leading the community to seek justice and security against future threats.
