Russia and Ukraine have agreed to hold regular humanitarian missions in the Kherson town of Oleshky after a joint operation was completed. On Saturday, Russian Human Rights Commissioner Yana Lantratova announced the plan in Moscow, noting that the missions would provide ongoing aid to civilians in the area.

The agreement follows a brief joint effort that allowed relief supplies and medical assistance to reach displaced residents amid the ongoing conflict. Both sides said the new schedule will aim to ensure a steady flow of food, medicine and other essentials to the local population.

With the war still active close to the town’s borders, the decision marks a rare instance of cooperation between Russia and Ukraine on humanitarian grounds. Officials said the new missions could help prevent shortages and reduce suffering for people trapped in the fighting, but they emphasized that the aid will not affect the broader military situation.
