The iconic US sitcom "Malcolm in the Middle" is making a return with a four-episode special on Disney+, but fans will notice a significant absence. Erik Per Sullivan, who played Dewey, Malcolm's younger brother, will not reprise his role as he has stepped away from acting. Instead, Caleb Ellsworth-Clark will be taking over the character, as reported by Variety.

Frankie Muniz is back as Malcolm, joined by his on-screen parents - Lois and Hal, played by Jane Kaczmarek and Bryan Cranston, respectively. Kaczmarek shared that Sullivan is doing well and is focused on his studies, not interested in acting anymore. Having started his career at age seven, he opted for a path outside of Hollywood, studying Victorian literature at a prestigious university.

Originally airing from 2000 to 2006, "Malcolm in the Middle" won seven Emmy Awards and followed the humorous and chaotic life of a gifted boy and his quirky family. The sitcom's new episodes will begin production soon in Vancouver, exploring Malcolm's life as a father to a teenage daughter, amidst his family's comedic chaos. The revival also welcomes back other original cast members, promising to bring nostalgic laughs to both old and new fans!
