In a tragic turn of events, a sightseeing helicopter carrying a family of five from Spain crashed into the Hudson River, resulting in the loss of all onboard, including three children aged 4, 5, and 11. The family, identified as Agustín Escobar and Mercè Camprubí Montal, were both executives at Siemens, with the pilot also reported to be among the victims.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams expressed heartfelt condolences to the victims' families as authorities launched an investigation into the crash, which happened shortly after the helicopter took off from Downtown Manhattan. Eyewitnesses reported seeing parts of the helicopter falling from the sky before it turned upside down and plunged into the river.

Rescue teams responded quickly, but unfortunately, four of the victims were declared dead at the scene, while two others passed away at a nearby hospital. Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez and regional leaders shared their sorrow, highlighting the international impact of this tragic event.
