An unexploded World War II bomb was found in Paris, specifically near Gare du Nord station, causing major disruptions in train services. The 500kg bomb, discovered at a construction site about a mile north of the station, prompted the evacuation of 200 residents in Saint-Denis and a suspension of train services, particularly affecting Eurostar connections. French Transport Minister Philippe Tabarot announced that normal rail services should resume Saturday at 17:00 GMT.

Eurostar officials stated the situation was "complex" and that cancelling the day's 32 services was necessary for passenger clarity. The train operator also promised passengers the flexibility to change bookings for free. Train traffic chaos ensued across mighty Paris, with over 218 kilometers of road jammed due to the bomb scare.

Despite the cancellations, Eurostar services are running normally between Brussels and other cities. Many travelers found themselves stranded while trying to navigate alternative travel plans, with some even considering ferries to return home. Amid the turmoil, travel disruptions coincided with Paris Fashion Week, adding to the frustration for numerous attendees.

With the bomb neutralized, officials believe railway operations will return to normal shortly, enabling many frustrated passengers to finally continue their journeys.
