After a Russian drone targeted a kindergarten in Kharkiv, Ukraine, emergency workers sprang into action to rescue 48 children trapped inside. Major-General Oleksandr Volobuev and other brave responders carried the children away from the burning building, earning national admiration.
The drone attack came without warning, engulfing the Honey Academy in chaos. Despite the immediate danger, all children managed to remain unharmed, thanks to the swift action of rescuers who fought through debris and smoke.
In the aftermath, Volobuev described the adrenaline rush of the rescue, which turned him into a hero for the nation. President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the attack as a direct assault on civilians, emphasizing the need for safety and peace for all children.
This incident starkly showcases the struggles of those living in conflict zones and underlines the ongoing dangers faced by civilians in Ukraine.
