A man has been arrested in connection with a deadly car bomb attack that killed eight people and wounded 20 others in Delhi last week, authorities have said. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) stated that the car used in the attack, which the government has called a terrorist incident, was registered in the suspect's name. Allegations state he conspired with the alleged suicide bomber and was a resident of Indian-administered Kashmir. The explosion occurred near a metro station close to the Red Fort, a prominent Delhi landmark. The NIA has seized another vehicle belonging to the suspect and has interrogated 73 witnesses, including victims of the blast. This attack is notable as it is the first explosion in the highly monitored city since 2011. The incident happened at a busy traffic signal and caused significant damage to surrounding vehicles. Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned the attack, promising justice for the victims, while opposition leaders expressed their sorrow over the violence. Investigations continue, including a probe into links between the suspect and several recent arrests in Kashmir.
