Providence, R.I. – Police have intensified their efforts to locate the gunman responsible for the recent shooting at Brown University, which tragically resulted in the deaths of two students and left nine others injured. The incident occurred on campus during a busy time as students were taking final exams.

Over the weekend, authorities announced the release of a person of interest who had been detained, leaving investigators without a known suspect and prompting urgent calls for assistance from the community. State Attorney General Peter Neronha stressed the severe nature of the situation, stating, 'We have a murderer out there.'

The attack was chaotic, with reports indicating that more than 40 rounds were fired in a classroom. Investigators are particularly concerned about the lack of surveillance footage, as the engineering building where the shooting occurred reportedly has few cameras.

Amid the panic, one student, Mia Tretta, who previously survived a mass shooting at her high school, expressed the emotional toll of experiencing this tragedy for a second time. 'No one should ever have to go through one shooting, let alone two,' she said.

The community is mourning the victims as local leaders and residents came together to honor them at a vigil, reflecting on the impact of gun violence in schools. Brown University has canceled all classes and exams for the semester as the investigation continues.
