In a shocking verdict, a Swedish court sentenced Osama Krayem to life in prison for his role in the horrific execution of Jordanian pilot, Lt. Moaz al-Kasasbeh, who was burned alive in 2015. Krayem, a Swedish national also serving a 30-year sentence for his part in the Paris and Brussels terror attacks, reportedly denied involvement but was found to have actively contributed to the pilot's death despite another individual lighting the fire.
The tragic saga began when al-Kasasbeh's plane went down in Syria, prompting efforts from Jordan to secure his release through prisoner exchanges. Judge Anna Liljenberg Gullesjo noted Krayem's direct involvement, including guarding the pilot before the execution.
