General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, son of Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni, is back on X (formerly Twitter) after a brief hiatus. This time, he’s causing a stir, promising to “shake up this world!” and issuing provocative statements against opposition members. Less than a week after quitting the platform, he returned with threats to arrest any opposition figure wearing military-like attire.

The general, who leads Uganda's land forces, has faced criticism for his numerous contentious tweets, including a recent one where he jokingly threatened to behead opposition leader Bobi Wine. Despite claiming it was all in jest, the comment drew nationwide backlash, highlighting the narrow line between military duty and political ambitions he treads.

Kainerugaba’s social media presence, known for its bold claims, has previously resulted in diplomatic strife, like when he suggested invading Kenya in 2022. This dramatic return has sparked conversations about his potential intentions to succeed his father, who has led Uganda since 1986.

With his account gaining followers rapidly, Kainerugaba urged his supporters to return and follow him. However, the Ugandan government labeled his remarks as “casual” and not reflective of official policy, leaving observers to wonder about the implications of his unchecked comments and the future of his political aspirations.
