Warning: Contains disturbing content and graphic descriptions of sexual acts
A man running a sex ring operating out of Dubai's most glamorous neighbourhoods, and exploiting vulnerable women, has been identified by a BBC investigation.
Charles Mwesigwa, who claims to be a former London bus driver, offered to supply women for sex parties starting at $1,000 (£740). The BBC’s investigative team found that many of these women were misled into believing they were traveling to Dubai for legitimate jobs.
Undercover inquiries revealed dark realities of degrading conditions and alarming client requests. Women reported extreme abuse and horrendous treatment marked by racial undertones in a city often depicted as luxurious.
Tragically, the investigation also highlighted the suspicious deaths of two women linked to Mwesigwa's network. Families of Monic Karungi and Kayla Birungi question the circumstances surrounding their deaths, penetrating a murky world of exploitation with no oversight.
Mwesigwa has denied accusations, attributing the allegations to misunderstandings, yet the testimonies of those trapped in his network paint a harrowing picture of desperation and control, a stark contrast to the shimmering skyline of Dubai. Families of victims continue to seek justice, underscoring the dire need for accountability in the wake of such heartbreak.
