More than 30 people were rescued and three individuals remain unaccounted for in western Alaska after the remnants of Typhoon Halong brought hurricane-force winds and severe flooding. Rescue efforts are focused on the small villages of Kipnuk and Kwigillingok. Reports indicate that homes floated away during the storm, with people potentially trapped inside. According to officials, there are about 600 individuals taking shelter in Kipnuk, while Kwigillingok has around 300 seeking refuge in schools.
