At least three Palestinian women have been killed and eight more injured after missile debris hit a beauty salon in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) reports. The PRCS mentioned that shrapnel struck the building in Beit Awwa, located near Hebron.
The salon, a metal caravan, was reported to be one of the structures affected by the missile fragments, which also impacted multiple other locations in the West Bank. Among the casualties is a Thai worker who was killed by shrapnel in a farming community in Israel.
The incidents unfolded shortly after Israeli military officials stated they were “working to intercept” a missile attack from Iran. Local news reports identified the victims as Mais Ghazi Masalmeh (17), Sahira Rizq Masalmeh (50), and Amal Sobhi Abdel Karim Matawa' Masalmeh (36).
Emergency teams, including at least five ambulances, rushed to the scene, where they faced significant difficulties due to closed iron gates leading to the area. Despite these challenges, first responders found several casualties and transported the injured to local hospitals for urgent treatment.
Efforts by PRCS to manage the situation were complicated as they initially reported four fatalities before revising the number to three based on further investigations. A Thai worker’s body was found in Moshav Adanim, located approximately 12 miles northeast of Tel Aviv, where metal shrapnel from the incident had scattered across the area.
The ongoing violence and tragic losses highlight a severe humanitarian crisis in the region, prompting urgent calls for peace and support from global communities.
