French authorities have rescued the father of a cryptocurrency millionaire after he was kidnapped in broad daylight in central Paris. The victim, who remains unnamed, was taken by four masked men in a delivery van on Thursday. Reports reveal that police found the man, in his 50s and with a missing finger, at a house in Palaiseau, south of Paris. The kidnappers had demanded a ransom between 5-7 million euros (approximately £4.2-5.9 million) from the man's wealthy son.

The police investigation, aided by phone signals, led to the swift arrest of the four suspects, who are currently being interrogated. French Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau praised the authorities for their impressive work in securing the man's release. This incident marks the third kidnapping related to France's cryptocurrency sector in 2023.

Earlier this year, notable cases included the abduction of David Balland, a co-founder of Ledger, and another victim related to a cryptocurrency influencer based in Dubai. These alarming events indicate a troubling rise in targeting individuals connected to cryptocurrencies in France.
