A passenger bus collided with a dumper truck near the Havelian interchange in Abbottabad district, killing eight people and injuring 30, including five children and six women, according to Rescue 1122 officials.

Rescue 1122 dispatched seven ambulances and a rescue vehicle to the scene to evacuate victims and provide emergency assistance.

All 30 injured were taken to Ayub Medical Complex; medics feared the death toll could rise as four are in critical condition.

The bodies of the eight deceased, reportedly from Gilgit, were transferred to different hospitals.

Local police suggested a tire burst on the bus caused the driver to lose control.
