In a shocking event near Port Macquarie, Australia, Don James found himself in a life-or-death scuffle with a "really muscly" kangaroo that he alleges "tried to drown" him. Amidst flooded roads due to record rainfall in New South Wales, Ms. Kristy Lees, who witnessed the encounter, described the kangaroo as a distressed creature possibly trapped by the rising waters.
While checking water levels, she was warned about a "really big" kangaroo lurking nearby. Suddenly, the kangaroo charged at James, leading to a wild "boxing match" as they exchanged punches. When James fell into the floodwaters, he was quickly overpowered by the kangaroo.
"At one point, the kangaroo was holding him down," Lees recounted, urging her husband to assist. Fortunately, the kangaroo became startled by a passing vehicle, allowing James to escape and share his harrowing experience, stating, "I just remember being under water." Interestingly, kangaroos are known to use water as a defense against threats, showing a formidable instinct for self-preservation.
Despite this terrifying encounter, James remains unfazed, having previously faced an attack from a great white shark just a year earlier. "I feel like they're trying to kill me," he humorously commented. This unexpected incident serves as a reminder of nature's unpredictability amid climate challenges.
