In a London court appearance, Roman Lavrynovych, 21, was charged with three counts of arson with intent to endanger life. The incident involved fires at properties connected to UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who resided in the areas affected. During his brief appearance, Lavrynovych confirmed his identity through an interpreter, wearing a gray tracksuit.
Prosecutor Sarah Przybylska revealed that the car and properties were linked to Starmer, though the motive remains unclear. One fire took place outside Starmer's previous family home in Kentish Town, while another erupted at an Islington property where he lived in the 90s. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, although damage was noted at the Kentish Town rental property.
Lavrynovych is set to remain in custody until his next court hearing at London's Central Criminal Court on June 6, as counterterrorism police continue to investigate the matter further.
