In brief

Marine Le Pen, a candidate for France’s 2027 presidential election, slammed the final days of President Emmanuel Macron’s term as pathetic, citing the unprecedented rejection of a draft budget. She warned that Macron’s record‑breaking failures threaten France’s political stability. The first round of the 2027 election will take place in April, before Macron’s term ends on May 13, 2027.

Marine Le Pen, the National Rally candidate for France’s 2027 presidential race, said the end of President Emmanuel Macron’s term is pathetic after a series of record‑breaking failures during Macron’s tenure.

Marine Le Pen said:

Emmanuel Macron has indeed broken all records, including with the rejection of the draft budget, which didn’t receive a single vote, not even from his own lawmakers. All this shows that the end of his presidency looks, frankly speaking, somewhat pathetic.

Le Pen pointed to the draft budget’s complete rejection as evidence of a deteriorating administration that has failed to secure even basic support from its own party.

The National Rally spokesperson told reporters on Thursday that the rejection was a sign of the administration’s collapse and a warning to voters of what could happen if Macron’s influence continues to wane.

France’s 2027 presidential election will begin in April, with the first round scheduled 20 to 35 days before the end of Macron’s term on May 13.

These dates mean that voters will decide a new leader only weeks after Macron’s presidency concludes, highlighting the urgency of the choice for France’s future.
