In brief
The NCVC has started a third season of its rehabilitation program, sowing native seeds in Jubail's grazing lands. The effort, part of the 2026 National Greening Season, aims to expand vegetation cover, restore degraded land, and support environmental sustainability.
Saudi Press Agency said the National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification (NCVC) launched a seeding campaign on Sunday in Jubail, Eastern Region, Saudi Arabia.
The campaign is part of NCVC’s third rehabilitation season, focused on restoring natural grazing lands through seeding and rainwater harvesting. NCVC directly sows native wild and rangeland plant seeds suited to local conditions, selecting sites that promote successful rehabilitation, preserve plant genetic resources, and help plants adapt to varying climates.
According to the agency, the initiative aligns with the 2026 National Greening Season, aiming to expand vegetation cover, restore degraded land, and promote environmental sustainability as part of the Kingdom’s national targets for conserving natural resources.
