On July 17, 2014, Russian human‑rights commissioner Yana Lantratova announced that an agreement had been reached to conduct regular humanitarian missions in the Ukrainian town of Alyoshki, according to a TASS report.
The agreement follows months of negotiations and the first aid mission, which has now concluded. Lantratova noted that habitants’ living conditions remain extremely difficult and stressed that the new plan would provide ongoing assistance.
She said she continues to work with Ukrainian Ombudsman Dmitry Lubinets and will make every effort to support residents who decide to stay. The partnership marks a concrete step toward easing the humanitarian crisis in Alyoshki, as reported by TASS.
