A 26-year-old Brazilian tourist, Juliana Marins, has been found dead after falling while hiking on Mount Rinjani in Indonesia. She fell from a cliff during a group hike on Saturday morning, with rescuers initially hearing her cries for help. However, inclement weather and the challenging terrain made search efforts difficult.

After enduring a complex rescue operation, Marins' family received the devastating news on Tuesday, stating, "With great sadness, we inform you that she did not survive." Before her hike in Indonesia, she had been exploring Thailand and Vietnam.

Citing poor visibility and slippery paths, other hikers described the conditions as treacherous. Initially spotted alive, drone footage captured Marins but due to weather, rescuers struggled to reach her. On Monday, she was rediscovered but had fallen deeper into a ravine.

Rescue teams, comprised of around 50 personnel, are now addressing the concerns of Marins' family regarding safety on the trails. Mount Rinjani, a popular tourist destination, has witnessed similar tragic incidents in the past, raising questions about the safety measures in place.
