The Bob Vylan band ignited controversy at this year’s Glastonbury Festival after their lead singer called out a chant of "Death, death to the I.D.F.," aimed at the Israeli Defense Forces, while performing onstage. This incident drew immediate backlash and condemnation from Glastonbury organizers, who expressed their dismay over the inflammatory statements.

Glastonbury, known for its diversity, previously faced scrutiny for allowing Irish-language rap group Kneecap to perform despite their anti-Israel remarks. The crowd for Bob Vylan was reportedly full even before their set, indicating the band’s popularity.

Following the chanting incident, criticism poured in from UK politicians and groups including the Israeli embassy, accusing the festival of promoting hate. Avon and Somerset police are currently reviewing the footage to assess if any legal offenses occurred.

Festival organizers issued a statement on social media, acknowledging the breadth of performances at Glastonbury but clarifying that they were appalled by Bob Vylan's comments. They emphasized that while the presence of artists with differing views is expected, it doesn’t equate to endorsing their beliefs.
