NEW YORK (AP) — On the eve of his sentencing, Sean “Diddy” Combs conveyed to a federal judge that he feels transformed after his hardships behind bars. At age 55, he expressed that he has reevaluated his life, claiming to have been 'broken to my core'.

In a personal letter to Judge Arun Subramanian, Combs opened up about his struggles, revealing he's been sober for a year and reflecting on the devastation of his past actions. He conveyed both regret and a desire for redemption ahead of his sentencing, which is set for this Friday.

“I've lost my way... my selfishness led me to this point,” he admitted, revealing that the last couple of years have been the hardest of his life, with no one else to blame but himself. His heartfelt apologies extend to his victims, including a former girlfriend, as he digs deep into the wounds his actions have caused, vowing to never repeat his mistakes.

Beyond seeking forgiveness, Combs emphasized the importance of his family: his seven children and elderly mother, who depend on him. He painted a grim picture of prison life, describing the harsh conditions he faced during his time in a Brooklyn federal jail.

While prosecutors push for a lengthy 11-year sentence due to his convictions on two prostitution-related counts, Combs' legal team advocates for his release, insisting that his time served has been sufficient punishment. With his letter, he hopes to inspire others with his story of redemption and growth.
