The body of a Bangladeshi doctoral student, Zamil Limon, who went missing along with his girlfriend, Nahida Bristy, from the University of South Florida, has been discovered on a bridge over Tampa Bay. Authorities reported the discovery on Friday morning while confirming that Bristy is still missing.
Zamil Limon's remains were found on the Howard Frankland Bridge, and his roommate, Hisham Saleh Abugharbeih, 26, has been arrested with preliminary charges. These charges range from unlawfully moving a dead body to tampering with evidence.
This alarming case has drawn significant attention as local law enforcement continues to search for Nahida Bristy, with dive teams currently scouring the waters near the bridge. Hillsborough County Chief Deputy Joseph Maurer called upon the public to assist in providing any valuable information regarding Bristy's whereabouts.
Prior to his arrest, Abugharbeih was located at his family home following reports of domestic violence where he initially barricaded himself inside. Following negotiations, he surrendered. A troubling background was revealed about Abugharbeih, showcasing previous arrests which included battery and domestic violence incidents.
The tragic situation of Limon and Bristy has affected many in the community, and authorities urge anyone with leads about Bristy's location to come forward.
