An American teenager, Ethan Guo, aged 19, found himself in a tricky situation after being detained on King George Island, Antarctica, while trying to achieve his dream of flying to every continent in a small Cessna 182. His flight, which began from Punta Arenas in Chile, hit a snag when Chilean authorities intervened upon discovering he had submitted a false flight plan.

According to Chile's General Directorate of Civil Aeronautics, Guo's deviation from the planned route triggered alarm protocols. He now faces charges for violating sections of Chile's aeronautical code, which could lead to a short-term prison sentence.

Guo's aspiration to embark on this epic flight—spanning over 140 days—has been followed by more than a million fans online. He aims to raise $1 million for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital while becoming the first pilot to make solo flights to all seven continents. He recently posted on social media to reassure his followers: "I'm alive everyone, I'll make an update soon."
