Tottenham captain Son Heung-min has recently filed a criminal complaint with South Korean authorities after allegedly falling victim to a blackmail attempt. Reports suggest that a woman approached Son last year, claiming she was pregnant with his child and demanding money to keep silent about her claim. In March, a man reportedly followed up on this demand, further pressuring the football star.
The Gangnam Police Station has since detained a woman in her 20s and a man in his 40s on suspicion of extortion. Son's agency released a statement declaring that he is "the clear victim in this case." Meanwhile, the South Korean forward, who has netted 173 goals in 451 matches for Tottenham since 2015, is gearing up to face Manchester United in the Europa League final on Wednesday.
His agency has confirmed they will take robust legal action against anyone involved in the blackmail and have promised to keep fans updated as the investigation progresses.
