More NATO countries will move troops and fighter jets eastwards after more than a dozen drones entered Polish airspace on Wednesday.

Denmark, France, and Germany have joined a new mission to bolster the military alliance's eastern flank, with other NATO allies expected to join soon.

Tensions are high since Poland accused Russia of an unprecedented airspace incursion. Some of the drones were shot down, while others crashed into fields and even a house.

Warsaw claims the incident was deliberate, but Moscow claims they had no intentions of targeting Polish facilities.

This drone incursion marks the most serious incident since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion in February 2022, with Poland's Prime Minister highlighting the grave situation.

Danish contributions will include two F-16 fighter jets and a warship, while France and Germany are pledging additional air support. The UK has also committed to strengthen NATO's Eastern Sentry operation.

European allies have rallied to support Poland during discussions at the UN Security Council, emphasizing their commitment to NATO's collective defense.

Despite the rising tensions, Russia has maintained that the incident was not purposeful and blamed navigation issues for the drones entering Polish airspace.

Meanwhile, military drills between Russia and Belarus are expected to increase concerns in the region as NATO fortifies its defenses.
