Kinahan was extradited from Dubai to Ireland and spent his first night in custody with a high‑security convoy escort. He was arraigned in Dublin’s Special Criminal Court and remanded until 5 October. Prosecutors charged him with directing a criminal organization. An international cooperation deal between UAE and Irish authorities secured his capture.

Arrival and Court Hearing

Daniel Kinahan, a 49‑year‑old who has been on the world’s most wanted list, landed in Dublin on a government jet and was taken into custody after an arrest at an airport in the evening.

He appeared before the Special Criminal Court, a non‑jury hearing lasted 13 minutes, and he was remanded in custody until 5 October.

Kinahan was charged with directing a criminal group between 18 October 2015 and 6 April 2017. When offered a chance to apply for bail, he quipped that he knew he would not be granted it.

Security Measures

The transfer employed a newly acquired bulletproof and bombproof van for high‑risk prisoners. Heavy police presence formed a convoy that moved swiftly from the airport to the Criminal Courts of Justice.
