Kevin Spacey has agreed an out-of-court settlement with three men who had sued the actor after accusing him of sexual assault. The civil cases were set to go to trial at the High Court later this year, but those proceedings have now been frozen following the settlement.

The claims were based on allegations of assaults that took place between 2000 and 2013. Spacey, 66, denies all allegations of wrongdoing and was previously cleared of nine sexual offence charges at a criminal trial in 2023.

Two of the men involved in the civil suits had also testified against Spacey in his criminal trial. One, identified only as LNP, claimed Spacey assaulted him on approximately 12 occasions, while another, GHI, alleges that he suffered financial loss and psychological damage due to an assault in 2008.

The third accuser, Ruari Cannon, has waived his right to anonymity and alleged that Spacey groped him at a party in 2013 after a performance at London's Old Vic theatre, where Spacey was artistic director from 2004 to 2013.

Lawyers for the claimants had indicated the possibility of bringing evidence from other witnesses alleging similar abusive behavior during the upcoming trial, but with the settlement now in place, those discussions will cease. No details of the settlements have been disclosed.
