Hurricane Gabrielle is on track to hit the Azores islands, bringing with it dangerous weather conditions such as heavy rain, high winds, and potential flooding. The National Hurricane Center has issued a hurricane warning for the entire volcanic archipelago, anticipating preparations need to be completed quickly.

As Gabrielle approaches, it's currently located about 455 miles west of the islands, with winds reaching up to 75 mph. There’s also a risk of life-threatening surf and rip currents. Flooding could reach 5 inches in central Azores and around 3 inches in the eastern and western areas. Residents are urged to take the necessary precautions as this storm is expected to maintain hurricane strength through its passage and bring significant challenges over the weekend.
