In a shocking case, Queensland police have announced that a 27-year-old man has been charged with hundreds of child-abuse-related offences involving 459 victims, both in Australia and across 15 other countries. The man, who has been in custody since February, was found with a staggering collection of more than 23,000 videos and images of the alleged abuse on his electronic devices.

Detective Acting Chief Superintendent Denzil Clark stated that the identification of victims took considerable time and expertise due to the vast number of materials. Currently, 360 victims have been identified, with investigations still underway. Over 200 of these victims are in Australia, and the rest are mainly in English-speaking countries.

Cyber-crime experts have expressed concerns about the increasing number of children being groomed online and forced into sharing explicit content through popular platforms. This man allegedly created multiple online profiles, posing as various genders to target children aged between 7 to 15 years old. The abuse reportedly spanned from 2018 to 2025. Charges against him include producing child abuse material and engaging in sexual activities with minors via online services. He is expected to appear in court soon.
