Eleven days after the mother of “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie vanished from her home in Tucson, Arizona, authorities are still without leads. Investigators released video footage of a masked and armed figure on Guthrie’s porch at the time of her disappearance, but the individual remains unidentified.
After detaining a person for questioning, authorities soon released him, intensifying concerns from both the public and family members regarding the progress of the investigation. Mary Ellen O'Toole, a former FBI profiler, noted that some cases appear stalled at first but get solved later.
Experts recommend community support, suggesting that someone might have noticed odd behavior from the suspect, which could help in identifying them. Investigators have revealed that DNA found at the scene matches Guthrie's, and they continue to look for additional evidence in the area.
As the investigation unfolds, local law enforcement has received nearly 18,000 leads. Pima County Sheriff's Department is actively urging anyone who has information to come forward, echoing past cases where important breakthroughs occurred through public assistance.
“Someone has that one piece of information that can help us bring Nancy home,” stated Connor Hagan, spokesperson for the FBI. The search continues with the hope of unraveling the mystery surrounding Nancy Guthrie's disappearance.
