Tiger Woods’ recent arrest after a car crash in Jupiter Island, Florida, has raised eyebrows once again. This incident marks at least the fourth auto-related case for the golf icon and the second time he’s been charged with driving under the influence.
According to authorities, Woods displayed signs of impairment when he collided with another vehicle and rolled his Land Rover. Although he passed a Breathalyzer test, he refused a urine test and was charged with DUI with property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test. Fortunately, neither Woods nor the other driver sustained any injuries.
History of Trouble
This is not the first troubling incident for Woods. In 2017, he was arrested for DUI while found asleep behind the wheel of his parked car. He later pleaded guilty to reckless driving and avoided jail time through a first-time DUI program.
In 2021, Woods was involved in a severe rollover crash near Los Angeles, sustaining potentially life-changing injuries to his leg. Doctors seriously considered amputation of his right leg due to multiple fractures.
More Crashes in the Spotlight
Earlier on, in 2009, Woods collided with a fire hydrant and tree, which became public amidst rumors about his personal life. With such a history, fans and critics are left questioning his future both on and off the golf course.
