President Donald Trump has spent much of his two-week vacation in Florida golfing. But when he returns to the White House, he’s eyeing a military golf course he has never played—one that's in line for a major renovation.

Known as the 'president's golf course', the Courses at Andrews—located at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland—hold historical significance as a getaway for presidents seeking solace from their demanding roles. Notable figures like Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagan, and Barack Obama have spent time there, with Obama reportedly playing it more than any other president.

Trump has always favored his own golf courses, spending a significant portion of his second term there. However, he now aims to renovate the Courses at Andrews alongside golf icon Jack Nicklaus, a renowned architect. The renovations will not only enhance the golfing experience but are also expected to create a multifunctional event center.

Michael Thomas, the former general manager of the course, chuckled about the joy presidents find in driving the golf carts, stating, 'It’s like getting your driver’s license all over again.'

While the plans are still in their infancy, the renovation indicates Trump's commitment to providing a better recreational experience for military members and their families, as both the courses and clubhouse have required significant repairs due to age and wear.

Andrews has been pivotal since the Civil War and its golf course opened in 1960. Trump's vision for the golf courses will represent one of the most significant renovations in their history, with promises of future improvements that resonate with service members for generations.
