Tesla has firmly denied recent reports indicating it has begun searching for a replacement for Elon Musk as CEO. The Wall Street Journal claimed the electric car company’s board was exploring successor options due to concerns about Musk's commitment to the company and its declining stock performance. However, Tesla quickly labeled the article as "absolutely false." Musk took to his platform X, criticizing the Journal for what he termed a "discredit to journalism."

Robyn Denholm, Tesla's chair, reaffirmed Musk's role on X, emphasizing the board's confidence in his leadership. The rumors surfaced amid ongoing concerns about Musk's divided attention between Tesla and his involvement in former President Trump’s administration. Despite Musk's commitment to increase his focus on Tesla, reports suggest that public perception of his political engagement is souring customer loyalty. Some Tesla customers have voiced intentions to boycott the brand, stirred by Musk's controversial political positions which have led to protests.

Amid these distractions, Musk continues to manage Tesla alongside other ventures, including SpaceX. When challenged about his multitasking, Musk humorously acknowledged his numerous roles, stating, “They say I wear a lot of hats,” while jokingly donning two caps in a recent video. Despite speculation about his various commitments, it remains to be seen how this will impact Tesla's future.
