In a heartbreaking event, a collision between a tour bus and a pickup truck near Yellowstone National Park resulted in the death of seven individuals and left eight others injured on Thursday evening. The crash occurred at around 7:15 PM local time when a Chevy truck and a van, carrying 14 tourists, collided on a busy highway leading to the park.

Both vehicles erupted into flames following the crash. Tragically, the driver of the truck and six passengers from the van did not survive. The cause of the accident is still under investigation by local authorities.

Witness Roger Merrill, who captured the dramatic scene, described the chaos as bystanders attempted to help survivors on the side of the road. He noted that the highway is notoriously dangerous, especially as it serves as a primary route into Yellowstone National Park, which sees millions of visitors each year, particularly in the peak months from May to September.

Emergency teams worked for over seven hours to assist victims and clear the area, which is located around 16 miles from the park entrance. The local coroner's office is set to release the names of those who lost their lives once their families have been informed.
