Key initiatives include an AI‑powered chatbot, an electronic NOC system, and a bus network planner to improve customer experience, traffic flow and efficiency.

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) unveiled its updated Artificial Intelligence (AI) strategy on November 1, 2026, with the goal of reinforcing its position as a global AI‑powered mobility leader. The strategy covers 41 areas across RTA’s agencies, sectors and departments, and focuses on the development of 40 AI products—11 already finished—and four foundational projects.

Over a 2½‑year implementation period, the strategy aims to generate more than AED300 million in annual added value and transition 50 percent of operations and services to an Agentic AI ecosystem, allowing RTA to deliver smarter, faster and more flexible services.

The plan includes public‑sector initiatives such as an AI‑powered chatbot, an e‑NOC system and a bus network planner. These tools are intended to improve customer experience, traffic flow and operational efficiency, contributing to a better quality of life in Dubai.

Mattar Al Tayer, RTA’s Director‑General, said:

"The launch of RTA’s updated Artificial Intelligence Strategy aligns with the directives of the wise leadership to accelerate AI adoption, expand its use across government sectors, reinforce Dubai’s position as a global hub for developing and deploying smart, innovative solutions, and develop human‑centred services that promote happiness and wellbeing."

He added:

"The strategy marks an advanced stage in RTA’s digital transformation journey, paving the way for a fundamental shift from AI applications that support operations to intelligent systems capable of analysing data, predicting outcomes, supporting decision‑making and delivering end‑to‑end services."

By integrating advanced technologies across its operations, RTA aims to plane, operate and manage road and public transport networks more proactively, offering personalized services that save time and effort for users and make mobility easier than ever before.
