US President Donald Trump has announced the nomination of Tammy Bruce, a former Fox News host and current State Department spokeswoman, to serve as the US deputy representative to the United Nations. In a post on Truth Social, Trump praised Bruce’s "fantastic job" and referred to her as a "Great Patriot" and "Television Personality." Bruce has a history of working as a conservative commentator for over 20 years and has written critical books about liberal policies, such as "Fear Itself: Exposing the Left's Mind-Killing Agenda."

She has served in the State Department since January and has defended various controversial foreign policy measures, including Trump's immigration initiatives and the deployment of private military contractors to aid efforts in Gaza. However, her nomination still requires Senate confirmation before she can assume the role. Currently, Mike Waltz is nominated for UN ambassador but has yet to receive Senate approval, while Dorothy Shea is serving as the acting ambassador.
