In brief

On November 1, 2026, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) and Saudi Aramco finalized a deal in which Aramco bought 49 % of AI firm HUMAIN, leaving PIF with a 51 % controlling stake. The partnership aims to accelerate HUMAIN’s worldwide AI expansion, blending the two companies’ computing power, talent, and assets into a full‑stack AI ecosystem. The deal is part of Saudi Arabia’s wider push to develop advanced data and AI technologies, attract skilled talent, and drive economic diversification.

On November 1, 2026, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) and national oil giant Saudi Aramco finalized a deal: Aramco purchased a 49 % stake in AI firm HUMAIN, while PIF retained a 51 % ownership share.

The transaction is designed to speed up HUMAIN’s worldwide AI expansion. By combining Aramco’s computing power with PIF’s AI assets and talent, the companies plan to build a full‑stack AI ecosystem that covers data‑center infrastructure, high‑performance computing, advanced models, applications and industry‑specific solutions.

For PIF, keeping a controlling interest keeps the deal aligned with its 2026‑2030 strategy to deepen economic integration, broaden private‑sector opportunities and lift Saudi companies to global leadership.

Aramco, meanwhile, sees the partnership as a way to turn advanced AI into industrial tools, improving its own operations and the wider ecosystem.

HUMAIN intends to increase data‑center capacity by 2030 and offer AI solutions that help public and private sectors deploy AI at scale.

Yazeed Al‑Humied, Deputy Governor and Head of MENA Investments at PIF, said: "Bringing PIF and Aramco’s AI portfolio of investments together under HUMAIN creates a powerful synergy that fuels talent growth, technological advancement, and intellectual property creation."

The deal underscores Saudi Arabia’s push to develop and use cutting‑edge data and AI technologies, attract skilled workers, and draw investment, while giving both the state fund and the oil company new avenues for growth.

With expected revenue growth and attractive margins, the partnership should enhance Aramco’s monetization of existing AI assets, complement its core energy business and support both companies’ broader digital agendas.
