Large white bags of meth hidden in charcoal
Police find 320kg of meth hidden in bags of charcoal shipped from Ghana to Australia.

Emaa Hussen, a 34‑year‑old British actress who played Naz in the Eastenders spin‑off E20 and appeared in Jason Statham’s 2013 film, is facing charges in an Australian court.

Police allege that Hussen helped import 320 kilograms of methamphetamine—worth about 300 million Australian dollars—into the country. The drugs were concealed in bags of charcoal inside shipping containers bound for Sydney’s Port Botany.

Customs officers conducted X‑rays and discovered a “white crystalised substance.” Subsequent testing confirmed it was meth, and the containers were seized before they could reach a storage facility in Girraween, a suburb of Sydney.

Hussen is currently detained and will be re‑tried in August. If found guilty, she could face a life sentence.

The investigation revealed a larger scheme involving people who used false identities to rent storage units where the meth was kept. Two men and a woman were also arrested in Adelaide for this role.

Federal Police praised their officers, stating that although criminals embed illicit drugs in everyday goods like charcoal, trained staff can detect such tactics and stop them before they reach the streets.
