At least 13 Palestinians, including several children, have died in tonight’s Israeli strikes on Gaza City, Khan Younis and Deir al‑Balah, according to local officials.

Israeli fighter jets said they targeted Hamas military operatives. An IDF spokesperson confirmed the killing of two Hamas commanders – one from the elite Nukbha force and another from the Maghazi Battalion – and a third from the Jabalia Battalion in a separate raid last week.

The attacks come just days after Hamas agreed a disarmament plan overseen by President Donald Trump’s Board of Peace, which would see the group hand over its weapons. Israel remains skeptical, with Energy Minister Eli Cohen saying the Strip must fall under full Israeli control if Hamas does not comply.

More than 1,100 Palestinians have been killed since the ceasefire that began in October 2023, and the latest strikes continue to raise concerns about civilian safety and the future of the peace process.
