Yemen’s Houthi fighters fired ballistic missiles at Saudi Arabia’s Abha International Airport on Monday, following an air strike on the capital’s Sanaa airport.
Saudi air defenses intercepted all missiles, with no casualties reported.
The Houthis blamed the Saudi strike for targeting the runway and accused the kingdom of aggression, while Yemeni officials said the raid aimed to prevent an Iranian plane from landing at the airport.
This incident marks the most serious flare‑up in a conflict that began in 2014 and has left millions displaced and in urgent need of aid.
International bodies have called for de‑escalation and renewed negotiations to curb further violence in the region.
