Tatiana Schlossberg, granddaughter of former US President John F. Kennedy, has announced her diagnosis with an aggressive form of cancer. The 35-year-old climate journalist revealed she has been given less than a year to live due to acute myeloid leukaemia.

In her essay published in The New Yorker, Schlossberg expressed her feelings on the 62nd anniversary of her grandfather's assassination. She described her alarm at watching her cousin, RFK Jr, be confirmed as health secretary under Donald Trump while battling her illness.

Tatiana, the mother of two, has previously lived a healthy lifestyle that included running and skiing. However, after a bone marrow transplant and chemotherapy, doctors have warned her that the prognosis is grim.

In her heartfelt essay titled 'A Battle With My Blood,' she talks about the emotional weight of potentially leaving her children, whose faces she carries in her memory. She conveys her fears about adding further tragedy to her family's history, which has been marked by loss.

Schlossberg's situation echoes the enduring legacy of the Kennedy family in American politics, highlighting both their achievements and the personal challenges they have faced over generations.
