Sam Rivers, the bass player in the nu metal band Limp Bizkit, died on Saturday, as confirmed by social media posts from his bandmates. Although the band did not disclose the circumstances surrounding his death, they praised Rivers as 'pure magic' and 'the soul in the sound.'

In a touching Instagram tribute, they wrote: 'From the first note we ever played together, Sam brought a light and a rhythm that could never be replaced.' Band frontman Fred Durst expressed his grief in a video shared on Sunday, reflecting on how Rivers impacted their lives and careers, saying, 'He really did have an impact on the world and his music.'

Rivers faced health challenges due to heavy drinking, which led to liver disease. He took a break from the band in 2015, underwent a liver transplant, and reunited with Limp Bizkit three years later. The band is scheduled to begin a tour in Mexico City at the end of November.

With their unique blend of alternative rock, heavy metal, and rap, Limp Bizkit rose to fame in the late 1990s, leaving a lasting mark on the music scene. Rivers' creativity and musicality will be dearly missed.
