A 14-year-old student in France has admitted to stabbing his art teacher, revealing he was driven by 'too much hatred'. The attack occurred during a class session at La Guicharde school in Sanary-sur-Mer.

The teacher, aged 60, was stabbed three to four times in the chest and remains in serious condition following surgery, according to local officials. Prosecutor Raphaël Balland stated that the boy had premeditated the attack, having brought the knife from home with the intent to harm his teacher.

The assault took place in front of 22 students, prompting the school's immediate evacuation and cancellation of classes the following day. The student reportedly felt mistreated due to several disciplinary issues reported by the teacher, which he deemed unfair.

The boy expressed regret and felt more hatred towards himself rather than his victim. Authorities are set to decide on his pre-trial detention as legal proceedings unfold.

This incident highlights a troubling trend, as attacks on educators in French schools have surged in recent years. Education Minister Édouard Geffray condemned the attack as 'unacceptable' and acknowledged the ongoing struggle against rising violence in educational settings.

In a reflective moment, Geffray emphasized the need for collective effort involving families and community members to tackle underlying tensions contributing to such incidents.
