At least 104 Palestinians were killed in a wave of Israeli strikes in Gaza on Tuesday night, according to the territory's Hamas-run health ministry.

The Israeli military stated it struck dozens of terror targets and terrorists in response to violations by Hamas of the US-brokered ceasefire deal.

Israel's defense minister accused Hamas of an attack that killed an Israeli soldier and of breaching terms regarding the return of deceased hostages' bodies. Contrarily, Hamas claimed it had no connection to the attack, alleging that Israel is undermining the fragile deal.

US President Donald Trump stated that nothing would jeopardize the ceasefire, but emphasized that Israel has the right to retaliate when its soldiers are attacked.

The strikes resulted in significant damage across Gaza, hitting homes, schools, and residential areas, with witnesses describing pillars of fire and smoke rising amidst the chaos. The health ministry noted that among the dead were 46 children and 20 women, and more than 250 others injured.

After the strikes, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed he had ordered the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) to carry out forceful strikes in response to the recent violence, leading to further escalation of tensions in the area.
